2 years minimum experience
Location: Float between our two facilities.
Shift: Days- 0630- 3p ( flexible schedule)
Duration: 13 weeks
On- Call requirement:
Yes- Rotating call 12-15 days per month and every other weekend (call schedule may vary per unit needs).
Call hours: M-F 3p-0630, weekends 0700-0700 (24 hrs.)
Covid patients: Yes Charting system: Epic Scrubs: any color- Hospital also provides them.
Job Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and vascular conditions by performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. The technologist is responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images.
- Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and prepare procedure trays and instruments.
- Administer contrast media as directed by the physician.
- Document procedure details and patient information accurately.
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of cath lab equipment.
- Respond quickly in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or complications.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection control standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field.
- Current certification as RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS certification
Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Cath Lab setting
- Experience assisting with cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional procedures.
