Pay: $50 – $55 per hour 

Job Summary:

 The Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients as requested by physicians. The technician is responsible for producing high-quality images, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate patient records. This position is per diem and may require flexibility in scheduling based on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and other specialized exams.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Review imaging results for quality and accuracy; provide preliminary observations to physicians when appropriate.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, document procedures, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  • Current ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology as it relates to ultrasound imaging.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying schedules.
