Job Summary

The Travel Physical Therapist provides high‐quality physical therapy services to patients with various diagnoses in Redding, CA. The therapist performs assessments, plans and implements individualized treatment interventions, collaborates with other healthcare professionals, and monitors progress toward patient functional goals. This is a contract/travel position offering competitive pay, benefits, and possibly housing/travel stipend support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial evaluations of patients, including reviewing medical history, assessing mobility, strength, balance, pain, range of motion, functional status.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments and patient goals.
  • Provide interventions: therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, functional training, modalities (as applicable), gait training, balance work, etc.
  • Monitor patient progress; adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Document all care thoroughly: evaluation reports, daily notes, progress reports, discharge summaries.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, safe movement, injury prevention, etc.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other staff members to coordinate care.
  • Adhere to facility, state, and federal policies and regulatory standards for safety, infection control, privacy, etc.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure treatment areas are safe and clean.
  • May be required to cover days, nights or weekend shifts depending on facility demand.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • License: Valid Physical Therapist license in California.
  • Education: Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Doctorate preferred).
  • Experience: 1–2 years of clinical PT experience preferred; experience in similar setting 
  • Certifications: BLS / CPR certification required. Other certifications in specialty modalities may be preferred.
  • Physical demands: Ability to stand/walk for long periods; ability to lift/move equipment; bending, pushing/pulling; good manual dexterity.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; critical thinking and problem solving; ability to work independently and adapt to different patient populations and facility types.
  • Documentation/computer skills: Comfortable with charting/documentation software, maintaining accurate records.

Compensation: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour
