Job description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Echocardiography Technician to join our diagnostic imaging team on a per diem basis. The Echocardiography Technician is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations, including adult and pediatric studies, utilizing ultrasound equipment to support physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. The role requires flexibility to cover day and evening shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complete transthoracic echocardiograms (2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow imaging) and assist with stress echocardiography when required.
- Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper documentation of findings according to established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for examinations, explaining procedures clearly and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document test results accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and maintain compliance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety procedures at all times.
- Provide per diem coverage for both day and evening shifts, based on departmental needs.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Echocardiography/Ultrasound Technology program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential required
- Current BLS certification (AHA required).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in echocardiography preferred;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent patient care.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
