Must know Epic. Two years' experience required. Must be experienced in general OR and also CARDIAC OPEN HEART CASES....General, and vascular cases. Should have experience TO CIRCULATE on heart cases.
Pay: $65 to $70 depending on experience.
Job Summary:
The Cardiac OR RN is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures. This role involves direct patient care, coordination with surgical teams, and maintaining a sterile environment to support successful cardiac surgeries. The nurse ensures patient safety and optimal outcomes through vigilant monitoring and adherence to established clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the cardiac operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Assist the cardiac surgical team before, during, and after surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and other cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor patient vitals and response to anesthesia throughout procedures.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques at all times.
- Circulate and/or scrub during cardiac procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and other team members.
- Advocate for the patient and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Document all nursing care and activities accurately and timely.
- Provide post-operative care and ensure a safe transfer to recovery or ICU.
- Participate in emergency response situations within the OR.
Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Licensure: Active RN license (state-specific); BLS and ACLS certification required.

Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of recent Cardiac OR or cardiovascular surgery nursing experience.
Compensation: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
