General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.)- BLS, LA Fire Life Safety
Certs/ARRT & other specialty certification requirements - ARRT X-ray and CT, CRT & Fluoro
Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties- CT - strokes, traumagrams, heads, chest/abd/pelvis. X-ray - Chest x-rays, extremity work, c-arm cases
Experience or 'Must have' skills-
One year CT experience is a MUST.
ER/hospital experience is a MUST.
Trauma center experience a plus.
Average # of scans/studies per day- Between x-ray and CT, about 100 exams/day
EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use - Merge PACS and Cerner EMR.
Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens)- Siemens 128 slice scanners. X-ray - Carestream portables and DR room. OEC c-arms.
Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech- We have 3 team leads on during the day, 2 in the evenings and 1 at night.
Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)- no
Radiologist in-house?- yes - 8am - 6 pm
Do they have to start IV's (if applicable to the department)- no, we have nurses in the department
Weekend Requirements- Yes
Holiday Requirements- no
Call or Standby requirement? Response time- no
Scrub Color/Dress Code: blue scrubs for OR (provided onsite), turquoise for main dept.

How Many Days of Department specific orientation- 3 days
We’re looking for experienced and professional candidates who can independently perform all procedures with high-quality results. As a CT Tech, you’ll:
Prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies Obtain images, produces film records and backups from disk to storage media, and transfers from desk to PACS stations
Maintains accurate study documentation
Performs a variety of tasks
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Administers radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases under the direction of a physician.
Detects and maps radiopharmaceuticals in patients’ bodies.
Process cardiac function studies.
Calculates, measures, and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed of.
Records and processes results of procedures.

Requirements:
Minimum 2 to 3 Years of experience
Candidates must have ARRT(R)(CT) certification
CA State Venipuncture permit
BLS certification issued by AHA

Compensation: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
