CA Flouro(if they have ARRT)

• Manager will accept ARRT with contingency they will receive their CA License (ETA 30 days with ARRT).
o Those with the ARRT will need to apply for the CA License. Please see if they earned the ARRT after 2011, if not, they would be required to take the Fluoro exam.
• Manager will accept a CCI (RCES, RCIS) credentialed tech without Fluoro.

Job Summary:

The Electrophysiology Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing electrical activities and arrhythmias of the heart. This role involves working with advanced medical equipment to perform electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and device implantation (e.g., pacemakers and defibrillators) while ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care and Assessment:

    • Assess patient symptoms and medical history to determine the need for electrophysiology studies or interventions.
    • Educate patients and families on procedures, risks, and post-treatment care.
  2. Electrophysiology Studies and Procedures:

    • Perform or assist in electrophysiology procedures, including diagnostic testing, catheter ablations, and device implantation.
    • Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as electrocardiograms (ECG), cardiac mapping systems, and fluoroscopy machines.
  3. Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
    • Assist in complex cardiac procedures in a cath lab or operating room setting.
  4. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:

    • Ensure that all electrophysiology equipment is functional, properly calibrated, and maintained in accordance with safety standards.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues during procedures.
  5. Data Management and Reporting:

    • Record and analyze electrical activity data to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
    • Document all procedures and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Education and Training:

    • Stay current on advancements in electrophysiology and cardiac care through continuing education and certifications.
    • Train and mentor junior staff or students in electrophysiology techniques and protocols.
Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related healthcare field. Advanced roles may require a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or specialized training in electrophysiology.
    • Certification in cardiac electrophysiology (e.g., RCES, CEPS, or ABIM board certification for physicians) preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Relevant clinical experience in cardiology or electrophysiology settings.
    • Hands-on experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac equipment.
